About Me

Hi, I’m Emily! I’m a dynamic educator and yoga practitioner. I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching from National Louis University, and am also a Registered Yoga Teacher, Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher, and Continuing Education Provider at the 500-hour level with Yoga Alliance. My sankalpa, “Soft Heart, Courageous Truth”, guides my daily interactions and is my motivation to offer the transformative benefits of yoga to students of all ages.

I began practicing yoga at age 16, and bring more than 10 years of teaching experience in addition to certification (RYT500, RCYT, YACEP) as a yoga teacher.

A graduate of Colby College ‘12 and National Louis University ‘14, where I received her Masters of Arts in Teaching, I first stepped into the classroom as a Teach For America corps member teaching Special Education at a charter school in Chicago, IL. After eleven years in the classroom, I left teaching in 2023. I currently  resides in my hometown of Baltimore, MD where I teach monthly pop-up public yoga classes and run my consulting business, Yoga In Classrooms And Schools Consulting.

No matter the setting, I strive to use yoga as a pathway for exploring  human values and character traits while uplifting humanity.

I hold multiple certificates of completion including a 200-hour hatha yoga training through Earth Heart Yoga, and my 300-hour Rasa yoga teacher training with Sianna Sherman. Additionally, I completed my 95-hour children's yoga training through Little Flower Yoga and have studied extensively with Elena Brower, participating in her “Art of Attention” teacher training in 2014.

Whether I’m serving as a mentor, teacher, consultant, yogi, or even a “friend”, my goal is to empower everyone I have the privilege of working with to find and nurture their authentic voice so that they may act confidently from the heart and stand firmly in their being.
