Testimonials

Emily’s dedication to yoga and the Baltimore community is truly inspiring and a positive force for so many. I was lucky to have Emily for my first yoga class and my body and mind have benefitted ever since, allowing me to successfully manage my pain from an incurable chronic medical condition. I take yoga as a sustainable alternative to physical therapy, and can always count on Emily and her quiet energy for a healthy stretch in a peaceful, welcoming, and very diverse environment.

Emily introduces a pose and provides various modifications for her student’s adjustment.  She emphasizes how not to take yoga so seriously and that’s what I have learned throughout my practices, to not be so hard on yourself and let it go.  She teaches you to smile while in Warrior III or throws in an extra crunch during a plank because she believes in her students and their abilities.  I try to follow her everywhere she goes to teach, whether it’s free or a charge because she’s worth it!!  I miss her when she’s away and sometimes she works us so hard during class, I wonder when “Savasana” is near.  She’s inspired me to want to be a future yoga teacher and told me to let her know when I’m ready.  Yoga is part of my life now and I try to encourage other’s that yoga is required for the mind, body and soul.

Emily’s classes are a space where the practice of yoga is just that, a practice. She leads with a deliberate direction, while still allowing each individual to listen to their bodies and mind so that they can make the class their own. She goes above and beyond to make every student feel welcome and comfortable, regardless of their level of practice.  Every class that she teaches allows space for laughter, light, breath, movement and stillness.
